Will The Million Dollar Vegan Campaign Help Anyone?
In a much requested topic, we dive deep into the Million Dollar Vegan campaign. MDV has pledged to donate one million dollars to “the veterans” if Donald Trump pledges to go vegan for the month of January. This campaign has received praise as well as harsh critique and we’ll do our best to parse out the good from the bad. Is this a good tactic in general? Would we feel different if they targeted someone less horrific? If Trump accepts the deal, would it actually help anyone or inspire others to go vegan? Is it possible to “go vegan” for one month? What’s the deal with co-opting “Make America XYZ Again” for the purpose of promoting plant based eating? What is one to make of using children as the face of this campaign?
